About San Diego Food + Wine Festival 2026 (formerly San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival)

The San Diego Food + Wine Festival - formerly the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival - turns the city into a week-long tasting circuit from November 1 to 8, 2026, closing with a reimagined Grand Weekend: Icons + Legends on Friday the 6th, the Grand Tasting on Saturday the 7th, and the Grand Fiesta celebrating cross-border Mexican cuisine on Sunday the 8th.

A private villa beats a downtown hotel all week: host your own chef's dinner after the Grand Tasting, keep your party together under one roof, and start each morning with coffee by the pool instead of a lobby line.

San Diego Food + Wine Festival 2026 (formerly San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival) — FAQ

When is the San Diego Food + Wine Festival 2026?

The San Diego Food + Wine Festival runs November 1 through 8, 2026. The Grand Weekend closes the week: Icons + Legends on Friday, November 6, the Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 7, and the Grand Fiesta on Sunday, November 8.

Where do the festival events take place?

The Grand Weekend is anchored on the San Diego Bay waterfront in the Marina district and along the Embarcadero. Satellite dinners, tastings, and classes run at restaurants and venues across the city throughout the week of November 1-8.

Is this the same event as the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival?

Yes. The event now goes by the San Diego Food + Wine Festival; it was formerly known as the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival. The 2026 edition features a reimagined Grand Weekend, including the new Grand Fiesta on Sunday celebrating cross-border Mexican cuisine.

Where should our group stay during festival week?

Waterfront hotels put you near the Grand Tasting but offer little space for a group. A private villa in La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, or Coronado keeps your party together under one roof, with a full kitchen, pool, and space to host your own dinners between festival events. The Marina district and Embarcadero are the most convenient bases if you want to walk to bayfront events.

How many people can a San Diego luxury villa sleep?

Private estates in the Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe corridor regularly sleep eight to sixteen across main houses and guest houses, with full kitchens, pools, and entertaining space. Smaller waterfront homes and condos suit couples and groups of four to six.

How do we get from a villa to the festival events?

San Diego is a driving city. Most guests use rideshare or a pre-arranged car service, particularly for Grand Weekend evenings. La Jolla and Del Mar are roughly fifteen to thirty minutes from the waterfront depending on traffic; Coronado is a short bridge or ferry ride across the bay.

How do we get tickets, and how far ahead should we book?

Tickets and the full schedule are published at the official site, sandiegowineclassic.com. Limited-capacity events — Icons + Legends and the seated dinners — sell out first, so book those as soon as tickets are confirmed. Festival-week villas are typically claimed six to eight weeks out; book the house first, then the tickets.

How do we book a villa for San Diego Food + Wine Festival week?

The Maruca Group manages luxury villas across more than fifty destinations, including San Diego, with vetted properties and concierge staffing. Contact us with your dates and headcount and we will match your group to the right property for Grand Weekend 2026.

How we screen every stay

Every home we represent is someone's personal residence, in a real neighborhood, and we've committed to the owner and their neighbors that we'll place it only with guests whose plans fit the home. So, like most professionally managed homes, we confirm a few details with every guest before a reservation is finalized — who is staying, the purpose of the trip, and agreement to the house rules and rental agreement. This is the same for everyone who books with us, and it's meant to protect you too: it keeps the neighborhood quiet and welcoming, keeps the home in the condition you expect, and ensures the property truly matches what you need. Once confirmed with the homeowner, we'll send the final quote for signature within one business day.

  • Maximum occupancy is the number shown for each home — no additional overnight guests, no day visitors beyond the registered group.
  • No undisclosed parties, events, gatherings, dinners, or photo/film shoots. Any event must be disclosed in advance, approved by the homeowner in writing, and paid for (event fee/deposit), and must follow city ordinance and house rules.
  • The primary guest must be 25+ (or the owner's minimum), must be staying on-site, and signs the rental agreement and provides ID.
  • Pet policy: pets by approval only. Service and assistance animals are always welcome — tell us in advance.
  • Quiet hours 10 PM–8 AM; this is a residential neighborhood.
  • Every guest is screened and the homeowner has final approval on every reservation.
  • Rates are confirmed with the homeowner before the quote is final.
